  • Branch Librarian I, Hinckley
East Central Regional Library has a vacancy for the position of Branch Librarian I to oversee the operation of the small community branch library in Hinckley.  This position is for 35 hours per week. ECRL is a consolidated regional library system with 14 branches.  A Bachelor’s Degree, up to date technology skills and two years related experience is required.  MLS/MLIS or similar library certification or advanced library training is preferred.  Candidates must have demonstrated creativity and vision to provide modern public library service; ability and willingness to work independently; above average communication skills; excellent customer service skills; and the ability and willingness to lead a library team of staff and volunteers.  Salary range is $13.58-18.12 per hour with paid health insurance and PTO.  Review of applications begins January 5, 2015 and continues until filled.  Submit ECRL application to:  Barbara Misselt, Director, East Central Regional Library, 244 S. The Hinckley Public Library is located in Hinckley, MN (Pine County) about 70 miles north of St. Paul on I-35.  The branch is open 30 hours per week, Tuesday-Saturday. The Branch Librarian is employed for 35 hours per week and supervises one Branch Aide who works 9 hours per week. The library shares a building with city offices.  In 2013, the library had 17,600 visits and 21,000 items were checked out.  This vacancy is due to retirement.

  • Technical Services Aide II
East Central Regional Library has a vacancy for the position of Technical Services Aide II to oversee day-to-day operations of the catalog data management and processing area for the region.  ECRL uses Evergreen open source library automation software for collection management. This position is for 40 hours per week. ECRL is a consolidated regional library system with 14 branches.  The position is at Headquarters in Cambridge. This vacancy is due to retirement.

A high school diploma or GED plus 2 years of formal education beyond high school, 2 years job-related experience, and up to date technology skills are required. Candidates must have demonstrated ability and wiliness to work independently. Salary range is $11.03-$13.94 per hour with paid health insurance and PTO.  Review of applications begins January 5, 2015 and continues until position is filled.

  • Computer Technician for East Central Regional Library based at Headquarters in Cambridge. High school degree or GED and 2 years technical training required, plus 1-2 years experience. 30-40 hours per week. Salary range is $12.09-$15.83 per hour.  Paid health insurance and PTO.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair PCs, peripherals, and software under the direction of the System Administrator. Execute routine procedures consistent with a large network environment (such as backups).

Must be able to problem-solve help desk-related issues easily, and have a working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products.  Networking and telecommunications experience necessary. Must be able to work independently. Good communication skills are required. Must travel to branch libraries across 6 counties of east central Minnesota (Aitkin, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Pine).

Job description summary: The Branch Library Aide is responsible for the clerical operations of the automated library circulation system.  The aide is also responsible for the operating a branch library, under the direction of the Branch Librarian.  Ability to work courteously and effectively with other employees and the public; ability to read, comprehend and orally communicate English; ability to be tactful and adept in dealing with a wide variety of people; ability to interpret library policies, resources, and services to others.
