Job description summary: The Branch Library Assistant is
responsible for the clerical operations of the automated
library circulation system. The assistant is also
responsible for the operation of a branch library, under
the direction of the Branch Librarian. Ability to
work courteously and effectively with other employees and
the public; ability to read, comprehend and orally
communicate English; ability to be tactful and adept in
dealing with a wide variety of people; ability to

Location Princeton: Princeton is one of 14
branches of the East Central Regional Library system. The
mission of ECRL is to strengthen communities by connecting
people with resources, spaces, and educational experiences
that enrich and empower their lives.
The branch is
open 6 days per week (Mon-Sat) for a total of 41 hours.
Branch service statistics for 2014 recorded an average
of 3,831 visitors per month and 5,617 checkouts per
month. Princeton ranks 3rd of the 14 branches
in ECRL service statistics. The current branch on the
bank of the Rum River was built in 1994.Princeton
has excellent community support with an active Friends
group and the Princeton Area Library Society (PALS).
Responsibilities: Oversee operation of a
community branch library. The Branch Librarian is
assisted by 5 part-time Branch Library Assistants
who work a total of 59 hours per week.
Required: Bachelors Degree; Up to date
technology skills; 3 years relevant library
Preferred: Completed masterís degree in
Abilities: Commitment to providing
modern public library service; Above average
communication skills; Excellent customer service
skills; Demonstrated ability and willingness to work
collaboratively with team of Branch Librarians
across the region and to lead the Princeton library
team of Assistants and volunteers.
Compensation: $15.52 per hour; PTO,
Health Insurance, HSA, PERA.
